The Renal Clinics and Renal Assessment Area are situated in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and care for patients with renal disease and kidney transplants who need to be brought into hospital for assessment and review.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. This is a part-time post of 19.8 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 8am-1pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within The Renal Outpatient and Acute Transplant Clinics as a Health Care Support Worker.

The Renal Clinics and Renal Assessment Area are situated in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and care for patients with renal disease and kidney transplants who need to be brought into hospital for assessment and review. The Team also provides haemodialysis for both inpatients and outpatients.

Renal Services in Glasgow are spread across 6 sites- it may be necessary at times to help support staffing in other parts of the renal service. You will be able to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for the defined patient group. Ensure effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard is maintained. These will be reportable to SCN/Deputy Charge Nurse.
