Experienced Children's Support Worker - Driver Required


37 hours a week (days, nights and weekends)

Up to £16 an hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Here at Brook Street Social Care, we have an exciting opportunity for any experienced Children's Support Workers to join an expanding team and work in residential children's services across Cardiff.

You will work as part of a team to deliver high quality care and support to the children and young people that you support. You will show a commitment to providing a consistent, caring and nurturing environment where individuals feel safe and valued.

The ideal candidate will work with the children according to their individual needs and to enable them to succeed in all areas of their lives. You will be a positive role model and will encourage children to grow and develop both personally and academically and with any extracurricular activities outside of school. In addition to this, you will have previous experience working with behaviours that can be challenging and/or aggressive in nature and have the ability to handle this in a professional manner in line with personal plans and risk assessments.

All required training will be provided to you, and you will have opportunities to complete extra qualifications to progress in your career working with children.

You will need to be a driver with access to your own vehicle to be considered for the role.


Requirements


  • Previous up to date UK based care experience working with children
  • Driver with access to own vehicle
  • Reliable
  • Experience report writing
  • Experience working with challenging behaviours or willingness to do so.
  • Flexible and able to support in other projects if the need arises.
  • Patient, nurturing and kind with a passion for children and young people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with children with EBD, ADHD, attachment issues and other behaviours that might be exhibited.
  • Willing to undergo further training the development to progress into the role.
  • Can work well as part of a team and can communicate effectively.
  • A keen listener with a drive to understand others and can see other points of view.
