Barts Health NHS Trust provides a wide range of clinical services to people in East London and beyond. We operate from four major hospital sites (The Royal London, St Bartholomew’s, Whipps Cross and Newham) and a number of community locations, including Mile End hospital. Around 2.5 million people living in east London look to our services to provide them with the healthcare they need. Caring for almost 6,000 patients every day, with a financial turnover of £1.4 billion a year and employing around 16,000 staff, we are the largest NHS acute trust in England.

We are looking for a high calibre and experienced individual to provide a high quality, comprehensive and responsive secretarial service and administrative support to the Group CNO and CMO. The role will include managing busy diaries and arranging complex meetings, supporting and servicing meetings and working as part of the team to ensure cover to the Trust executive office.

If your previous experience includes working at a Senior PA level for a corporate director preferably within an acute trust environment, then this could be the role for you. You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with first class executive assistant/business management and administrative skills and an ability to handle a busy and varied workload. You will also be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and be able to work on your own initiative. Diplomacy and discretion are essential qualities for this post, as are excellent IT skills.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.
