Band 5: £29,970 to £44,962 a year per annum - includes high cost area supplements (HCAS)  PERMANENT 
This post is suitable for an existing band 5 who has achieved their core competencies within an acute trust, but has not yet achieved sufficient experience to apply directly for a band 6 post.

Directly responsible for the management of own caseload of patients with diverse presentation and complex physical and psychological conditions, referred for Occupational Therapy assessment, rehabilitation, treatment planning and discharge management.

Assists in the management of the specialist team providing, developing and planning an Occupational Therapy service to patients for this client group. The post holder will act as a source of expertise, demonstrating and maintaining knowledge, skills and experience in this specialist role.

Older Persons Unit - acute

Surgery

Hospital Outreach Support Team (HOST)

Neurology

Milford Community Hospital

This post is suitable for an existing band 5 who has achieved their core competencies within an acute trust, but has not yet achieved sufficient experience to apply directly for a band 6 post. Within this position, the successful candidate will progress from Band 5 to a Band 6 upon completion of transitional competencies within a set time frame. Whilst completing the competencies the post will be static, however on progression into Band 6, you will join our rotational scheme.

As a Band 6 therapist you will also have the opportunity to supervise band 5s and/or assistants, apprentices and Occupational Therapy Students on placement, as well as contribute to our service development.

To fully utilise the rotational opportunities, use of own car is essential. Our services cover 7 days per week and the post holder will be expected to work regular weekends and bank holidays.
