Status - 12.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year

Work Pattern - Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 11-1pm and Wed 11-3.30pm

Location - Middleton Park School & Nursery

Roles that require PVG Membership


Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies
only
to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.


Job Purpose


To work within a team, assisting the Senior Early Years Practitioner and Early Years Practitioner in the planning and delivery of a flexible, high quality early learning and childcare service. Meet individual needs of children and their families, ensuring their wellbeing and improving outcomes for all service users.


Requirements


  • SVQ Level 2 Social Services – children and young people at SCQF Level 6 (or willing to work towards)
  • Registration with or eligibility to register with SSSC
  • PVG Membership for Regulated work with Children or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made


Responsibilities


  • An enthusiasm for working with children 2-5 in an Early Learning and

Childcare setting

  • Ability to relate to children, parents, carers and other professional

colleagues

  • Experience of communicating effectively, including non-verbal, verbal and

written forms of communication

  • Awareness of the relationship between high quality services and the

promotion of children’s learning and development

  • Ability to undertake appropriate CPD relevant to the post
