CAMHS Clinical Specialist (Professionally registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, Systemic Psychotherapist, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Nurse or Social Worker)

We are seeking a clinical specialist to join our Children and Families (under 12) team for a 12 month fixed term maternity cover. This is a well-established, dynamic and supportive service including psychiatry, clinical psychology, family therapy, nursing, art therapy and occupational therapy. We provide assessments, evidence-based treatment and care coordination to children and young people referred to the service for complex mental health and behaviour difficulties. The post will offer will support and advise parents and carers through parenting interventions and psychoeducation, as well as offer consultation and advice to their professional networks. The post holder will have strong formulation skills and offer consultation to the MDT and supervision to junior colleagues.

To provide CAMHS assessments, evidence-based treatment and care coordination to children under 12 referred to the service for complex mental health and behaviour difficulties .

To contribute to the Child and Family Team's MDT when discussing formulations and treatment plans.

To ensure that all recording and reporting of client contact are accurate, up to date, of good quality and within CAMHS and professional requirement standards of record keeping. To collect & collate information about individual clinical activity on ePJS

  • To provide support and advise parents and carers through parenting interventions and psychoeducation, as well as offer consultation and advice to their professional networks
  • To think creatively, work flexibly and have a range of clinical skills in working alongside others to support a complex range of service users and their network.

To link with other statutory and voluntary agencies and professionals as well as other CAMHS Teams in terms of referrals and joint work. Maintain good relationships and clear lines of communication with other professional agencies and departments, providing specialist advice and support where appropriate
