This Band 4 CAMHS Community Support Worker (Eating Disorders) role with Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is a hands-on, community-facing post based in Bristol (temporary base: Perry Road, BS1) delivering short‑term intensive home treatment and in‑reach support to acute hospitals for young people with eating disorders. The service operates 8am–8pm, seven days a week across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, so a driving licence and car are essential. Day-to-day duties include providing meal support, psychoeducation and emotional support to young people and their families, contributing to care planning and risk assessments, maintaining accurate clinical records, and working closely with acute trusts and CAMHS colleagues. You will sometimes work alongside a partner clinician and at other times independently within clear practice boundaries; you may support young people receiving NG feeding in the home (you will not administer NG feeds). Employment is permanent, full‑time, Band 4 (£27,485–£30,162) and subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This post is ideal for compassionate, resilient carers — particularly women and those with prior experience supporting children and young people with mental health needs — who want practical experience and professional development. The Trust offers structured supervision, a supportive multidisciplinary team of registered and non‑registered practitioners, and a strong training package including family‑based treatment for eating disorders, CBT‑E, crisis support and the wider CAMHS training curriculum; there is also support to work towards a Level 5 vocational qualification if required.
