of working with patients, the role requires that excellent and compassionate care is provided during the admission, monitoring, and discharge of patients. Within our sleep diagnostics department you will also learn to, and then with minimal supervision set up patients for complex sleep studies. This is supervised by senior Healthcare Scientists.When working at night you will be expected to monitor patients' wellbeing and be asked to maintain the quality of some biological signals as well as complete task lists relative to the day or night shift requirements. Implicit in the role, the holder will need to work with a multi-disciplinary team within the department as well as liaise with other departments as needed.There is a need for the post holder to be able to work autonomously and manage time and tasks effectively.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are mostly ward based.The patient work includes telephone preadmission as well as face to face admission and safety assessments completed as required. During admission expectation of the role includes, with minimal supervision, the setup of patients undergoing complex sleep studies.During night shifts patients will be monitored for safety as well as some aspects of data quality including checking of the sleep study signals. At night equipment is set up for outpatient clinics the next day among other tasks.Day shift tasks will include patient care and ward activities as well as collaborating with Healthcare Scientists to undertake daytime patient testing.The role expects procedures involved with patient discharge to be completed with guidance.Being led by the Healthcare Scientist team the role requires you to learn to download data from sleep monitoring devices.There is an expectation that this role will be actively involved in the maintenance of infection control, departmental audits and health and safety assessments. In addition, timely documentation of all relevant information on electronic notes systems is required. There is a small amount of administration involved in the role.
