Put your caring skills to rewarding use as a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker in the Outpatient Assessment Centre and Minor Procedure Suite at St Mary’s Site, Poole. This varied, fast-paced role supports registered nurses and clinicians across specialties including urology, trauma & orthopaedics, dermatology and oral & maxillofacial surgery, helping patients before, during and after minor procedures. Duties include preparing patients with respect and dignity, monitoring observations (pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation), assisting recovery and discharge, escorting patients, providing emotional reassurance to patients and families, and keeping procedure rooms and equipment clean, stocked and documented. The role suits organised, reliable and compassionate people — particularly women carers looking for meaningful clinical work with flexible full‑time or part‑time options.

The post is fixed‑term for 18 months (Band 3, £24,937–£26,598 per year) and will involve mandatory training, competency assessments (for example venepuncture or ECG if trained) and ongoing development within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Expect physical duties, exposure to clinical environments and occasional emotionally demanding situations; a DBS check is required.
