Become a Senior Healthcare Support Worker with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust at the Urgent Treatment Centre, Newton Abbot (TQ12). This permanent, full-time Band 3 role (£24,937–£26,598) puts you at the heart of an enthusiastic, learning-focused team delivering high-quality emergency and minor-injury care across all ages. You will work alongside registered nurses and practitioners, helping to supervise and orient colleagues, contribute to service development and play a practical part in easing pressure on local emergency services — all in a supportive setting that values shared knowledge and compassionate, patient-centred practice.

The role is clinical and hands-on: cannulation and venepuncture, wound care and basic closure, plastering of limbs, ECGs, visual acuity tests, taking and interpreting vital signs for adults and children, and carrying out adult and paediatric assessments. You’ll make safeguarding referrals where needed, liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and follow Trust policies. Previous care experience is essential, with wound-care and plastering skills desirable, and the post is subject to a DBS check.
