Work on Warrington Ward at Torbay Hospital (TQ2) as a Healthcare Support Worker, supporting surgical patients across ENT, maxillofacial, gynaecology, ophthalmology and head & neck cancer pathways on a busy 17‑bed acute ward. You will work alongside registered nurses and senior clinical staff within a multidisciplinary team to observe, monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, weight), assist with clinical duties, provide personal care and infection prevention, and offer reassurance and practical support to patients, relatives and carers. The role is permanent, part‑time, Agenda for Change Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata), requires an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (or demonstrable caring experience), and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. There are clear opportunities to complete specialist training and develop clinical skills, including tasks such as phlebotomy where appropriate and trained, with record‑keeping in both handwritten and electronic systems.

This position is ideal for compassionate carers — especially those balancing family or caring responsibilities — who want meaningful, flexible work in a supportive environment.
