The Role


You will be planning and delivering engaging fun and developmental activity sessions to adults with complex needs.

  • Plan activities and sessions youd be involved with which could be; cooking, arts/games/ music and other activities club within the leisure and skills centre.
  • Prepare workspaces and equipment in advance of session start times, as well as ensuring workspace is kept tidy at all times.
  • Implement and comply with health and safety procedures, in relation to the equipment used and activities undertaken.
  • Maintain cooking equipment to a high standard and arrange repair / replacement of items.
  • Work in accordance with food hygiene regulations and mandatory training
  • Complete all admin duties associated with the role
  • Prepare information/data required by senior managers for reports/papers
  • Provide different forms in different formats (email, written, verbal)
  • Document and celebrate achievements and activities completed by individuals accessing sessions
  • Evaluate event/activity feedback to assess effectiveness/opportunities for improvement


Essential



Skills and Qualifications


  • Previous experience planning and running activities
  • GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English
  • Food Hygiene level 2 or willingness to work towards
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Able to support children and young adults to participate in a range of activities.
  • Highly organised, and able to multi-task.


Other Useful Skills And Experience


  • Experience of working with children and/or adults with special educational needs and complex disabilities
  • Practical experience/understanding of young people with disabilities and barriers and how to apply to arranging activities and events
