At Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust we provide ‘outstanding’ care to both our patients and our staff.
The Paediatric Psychology Service are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to cover a maternity leave post in the Harrogate Paediatric Diabetes Team and the Paediatric Epilepsy Team, both based within Harrogate District Hospital.

These teams are both MDTs comprising Paediatrician, Nursing, Psychology and Administration colleagues (with Dietetics also part of the diabetes team). Clinical Psychology is highly valued part of both teams and the clinician is embedded within teams with close links to the wider psychology service across Harrogate District Foundation trust.

The post holder will benefit from close working relationships in both MDT teams as part of a wider integrated Paediatric Service, including an 8b Paediatric Psychology Lead in the Team.

  • To provide a specialist clinical psychology service to children, young people and their families and carers with a diagnosis of epilepsy or diabetes.
  • To provide specialist psychological assessment, intervention, advice and consultation on patients’ psychological functioning to other health professionals and carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and frameworks governing each clinical area.
  • To support psychological practice within the teams through integration and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinics, supervision, formulation and training.
  • To participate in regular supervision and activities with the clinical psychology staff in the Harrogate clinical psychology service
  • To contribute to the monitoring, audit, evaluation and development of the clinical specialities, as identified and agreed with the Lead Clinical Psychologist in the service area.
