We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HCA to join the friendly and well-established team on Gazzard day Unit. Gazzard Day unit is a highly specialised Day Care Unit which provide a safe and caring environment for patient receiving outpatient Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT) and some supportive therapies or interventions.Gazzard Day Unit also provide care for HIV positive patients at various stages of their condition. HIV patients who requiring certain investigations, procedures, post discharge reviews and planned hospital admission can be referred by their clinician.

Senior Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) are a vital part of the team that supports the staff and patients in wards and departments throughout the hospital. Working under the supervision of qualified nursing/ midwifery staff, senior healthcare assistants carry out a wide range of duties to care for, support, and provide information to patients and their families and their responsibilities can be very varied depending upon the area in which the person is employed.
The senior healthcare assistant can undertake a range of roles within their overall job and their level of responsibility will be appropriate/ commensurate to the level of knowledge and skills they have acquired.
The attitude and behaviour of a senior healthcare assistant is essential. Suitable candidates for the role are friendly, caring and sensitive individuals, who are able to offer social stimulation as well as care to the patients they tend.
