Parkfield Medical Centre in Potters Bar, are looking to recruit a nursing associate, to support a specific stream of work at the practice. This role is offered on a part-time basis of 30 hours per week. This role will involve working as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team providing planned care and delivering the highest standards of patient care.

  • Undertake clinical tasks including venepuncture and ECGs.
  • Support individuals and their families and carers when faced with unwelcome news and life-changing diagnoses.
  • Perform and recording clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and pulse.
  • Discuss and share information with registered nurses on a patients condition, behaviour, activity, and responses.
  • Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is always maintained.
  • Recognise issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
  • Recognise and report any situations, behaviours or errors that could result in poor care.
  • Conduct safe administration of injections using subcutaneous and intramuscular routes.
  • Smear tests.
  • Diabetes care.
  • Chronic disease management.
  • End of life/ palliative care support.
  • Undertake clinical medication reviews to proactively manage people with complex polypharmacy.
  • Support the practice in the delivery of full Spirometry services.
