The Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist for Learning Disabilities at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust in Billericay is a part-time role focused on leading and enhancing the Learning Disabilities Psychology and Behaviour Therapy service in South Essex. The position involves collaboration with a dynamic team, including a Principal Psychologist and other senior staff, to improve care for adults with learning disabilities through assessment and therapeutic support. Duties include working closely with individuals, their families, and multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to service development, and promoting trauma-informed care, while also ensuring high standards and continuous service improvement.

In addition to direct clinical responsibilities, the postholder will engage in training and consultation for staff across various disciplines and will play a vital role in the development of collaborative initiatives within the Essex Learning Disability Partnership. The role requires expertise in psychological assessment and treatment, along with strong leadership skills to build trust, facilitate service user involvement, and champion change management, all while adhering to principles of equality and diversity in practice.
