Job Description
Our friendly team at Meallmore are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to be part of the team in Forthland Lodge Care Home in Edinburgh. Conveniently located close the city centre of Edinburgh, Forthland Lodge offers residents safe, comfortable surroundings in a purpose-built nursing home.
As a Kitchen Assistant, Meallmore will allocate you your own mentor, as well as a comprehensive induction process. But why stop there? Our mentorship programme and ongoing training will give you all the support you need to develop your skills and progress in your career whether that be a Second Chef or Head Chef, the choice is yours!
Your Role As a Meallmore Kitchen Assistant Will Include
- Keeping the kitchen areas clean and tidy
- Supporting the catering team with basic food preparation as they create seasonal meals for our residents
- Properly cleaning and sanitising all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene
- Assist with specialist dietary requirements
- Serve nutritional meals
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work in a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills
