Stand by, we'll show you...
Here, at CrossReach’s day care service, children and young people enjoy time away from home. Based in our Glasgow hub in Springburn, we have been providing care for children & young people (8-18) with learning disabilities and complex needs for almost 30 years. The children and young people we support have faced more challenges than most. It’s our job to give them a home away from home by providing a caring and therapeutic environment where our focus is on meeting their needs whether that be having fun and making friends or growing in confidence and developing skills for independence. Surrounding this child-focused approach are the ideas, nurture and commitment of our team, who work together to ensure that every child enjoys the best possible care and reaches their full potential. Our team is close-knit and supportive and whatever your background we will ensure that you have the right support and training to make a difference every day you come to work. As you will work alongside parents and guardians, you will need strong communication skills as well as an understanding of some of the issues they may be facing. Ideally you have experience of working with children, particularly those with a learning disability, and you will be qualified to HNC level with SVQ3 (or willing to work towards these qualifications). However, what is equally important is you and the creativity, innovation and enthusiasm that you can bring to this really important role.
