Band 5: £29,970 to £36,483 a year  PERMANENT

An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join a dynamic and continually developing Physiotherapy Service at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for both new graduate or experienced physiotherapist to develop knowledge and skills working within an acute hospital trust and includes Cardio-respiratory / Medicine / surgery and ITU / MSK Outpatients/ Orthopaedics/Paediatrics and perinatal health / Neurology and Urgent Care. Rotations are 6 monthly.

We are seeking highly motivated Physiotherapist with good assessment and treatment planning skills. You will also have excellent team working, time management and communication skills. Working with multi-professional teams. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience and develop themselves through CPD and Learning opportunities.

Successful candidates will be expected to work in a flexible way to cover a 7-day working week and On Call Respiratory Service.

This role will be supported by Senior Physiotherapist offering supervision support and training. A thorough induction including a preceptorship period will be provided.

To work independently day to day to assess, plan and implementing treatment and interventions for patients referred and allocated.

To contribute to the planning and development of care packages for patients on the wards and post discharge.

To gather information from a variety of sources e.g. case notes, social service records, interviews with patients and carers, to inform clinical decisions.

To use clinical reasoning to assess and prioritise patients needs allocated caseload.

To communicate effectively with patients using appropriate techniques when there are physical, mental or emotional difficulties.

To ensure that accurate records are maintained for all patient related activities at all times.

To liaise with other disciplines and attend ward rounds, clinics and case conferences.
