This Senior Specialist Nurse

role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary team providing secondary care to people with a primary diagnosis of psychosis.


Main duties of the job


The successful applicant will have extensive experience and knowledge of working with people living with severe and enduring mental illness. They will be able to provide evidence based interventions and support to the most complex service users within the South Camden Rehabilitation & Recovery Service.



The post holder will have additional responsibilities as assigned by the Service Manager and play an active role in the development of the service through Quality Improvement and supervision of junior staff.

  • Evidence of further post-registration relevant training /ongoing academic study relevant to area of practice
  • Other advanced relevant training i.e. Advanced Care Planning, Non-Medical Prescribing physical health training or AMHP training.
Desirable

  • Evidence of Level 2 Safeguarding Adults and Children
Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of working in a specialist capacity for people with psychosis in a community setting
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Mental Capacity Act legislation, its application and use in practice with people with psychosis
  • Demonstrate practical experience of supervision within a clinical context
  • Demonstrate an understanding of risk together with an ability to evaluate and contain risk with reference to the individual, staff and carers
  • Evidence of participation in service development/Quality Improvement project
Skills and Ability

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Able to work autonomously and to deputise for senior staff in a variety of roles when required to do so.
  • Ability to maintain boundaries and form positive therapeutic relationships with service users and carers
  • Competent using computers and keyboards for entering personally generated data, generating and responding to emails, conducting web searches, storing data and retrieving data, producing reports etc
