Totally was established to support the NHS and ensure that patients could quickly access the healthcare they need. We partner with our healthcare commissioners across the UK & Ireland to deliver services that help them manage demand and reduce waiting lists. We deliver services for, Urgent Treatment Centres, NHS 111, GP out of Hours and a National Clinical Assessment Service from our Urgent Care Division.

We are looking for dedicated and passionate Senior UCPs to join our team in Staffordshire on a full-time or part-time, permanent basis. The role will incorporate clinical navigation of the OOHs queue to ensure patient safety and good service productivity.

It will be your responsibility to support, supervise, teach, preceptor and mentor a variety of non-clinical and clinical staff.


Your day to day...


This role involves working in a multidisciplinary/ multiagency team supporting each other to ensure that we provide high quality, evidence-based healthcare to meet the immediate needs of our patients. You will be required to show commitment to providing a high-quality service and continuous professional development.

The Clinical Lead will:
  • Work closely with the Operational Team Leader/Shift Manager to monitor and address clinical risk with the queue.
  • Proactively prioritise cases and navigate calls to the most appropriate clinician, ensuring local pathways / resources are utilised effectively within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Take clinical responsibility for patient journeys / end points of care.
  • Communicate with all staff and have an awareness of all their roles and responsibilities, providing real time management of issues, concerns, or incidents.
  • Initiate escalation procedures and liaise with Bronze on call / Senior Management Team.
  • Act as a role model for all staff and an ambassador to the service.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, undertaken audit, assist with investigation
  • Deputise for CSM as required
  • Provide clinical mentorship

Qualifications, Experience & Training...

  • Registered nurse / HCP with at least five years' experience that includes urgent care/primary care.
  • Previous experience in leadership including engaging with and motivating staff.
  • Be able to demonstrate good knowledge of urgent and primary care.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate staff for optimum safety and productivity
  • Be able to demonstrate audit knowledge and skills
