Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Lead Clinical Endoscopist based at Chorley Hospital (PR7 1PP). This senior Band 8b post combines advanced clinical practice with team leadership: you will deliver diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy (gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy) across two JAG‑accredited units, working a predictable weekly rota of three fixed lists plus two ad‑hoc lists. The role requires autonomous decision‑making in complex cases, management of clinical workload including pre‑assessment and MDT review, and responsibility for maintaining national standards and JAG accreditation.

This vacancy is ideal for an experienced endoscopist — a registered nurse or equivalent allied health professional with JAG clinical skills, non‑medical prescribing and teaching credentials (or willingness to complete required qualifications within six months). You’ll lead, mentor and line‑manage trainee and substantive clinical endoscopists, contribute to workforce planning, audit and research, and play an active part in the Bowel Cancer Screening programme. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals emphasises staff development and support, offering clear progression and learning opportunities; find this role and apply via the "Apply Now" button on jobsincare.com to take the next step in a rewarding, senior clinical career in Chorley.
