Provide rapid, specialist mental health assessment and risk management for people attending Tameside General Hospital. As a Liaison Mental Health Senior Practitioner you’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team responding to referrals from the Emergency Department and medical wards, delivering comprehensive assessments, short-term interventions, risk management plans and clear signposting or onward referral across all age groups. The post includes close working with police, ambulance crews and local agencies, developing effective interfaces with community and inpatient services and contributing to quality improvement and the team’s gateway role.
This permanent Band 6 role (salary £38,682–£46,580) is aimed at registered mental health professionals (RMN, Dip SW, BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent) with substantial acute experience. You’ll receive regular clinical supervision, CPD and real opportunities to shape an expanding service supported by investment. The service runs 24/7 on a shift rota including nights, weekends and bank holidays, offering varied hours and scope to balance work and life.
