Job description
Step into a pivotal role as a Locum Consultant Orthogeriatrician with Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. This 12-month opportunity allows you to become an integral part of a thriving Orthogeriatric Service. Recently enhanced with significant investment, the service is set to launch a Fracture Liaison Service, aiming to revolutionise fracture risk identification and prevention. Collaborating with rheumatology and community partners, you will lead efforts within a 36-bed Trauma and Orthopaedic admissions unit. Our patient-focused, multidisciplinary team, led by two distinguished Orthogeriatric Consultants, strives for excellence in managing unscheduled emergency orthopaedic admissions for elderly patients. With a focus on falls prevention and bone health, you'll be positioned to foster change and elevate clinical outcomes, while benefiting from a supportive work environment.
Appealing to those passionate about compassionate care, this role offers a distinctive working model with alternating trauma 'take' weeks and a future vision for community outreach and outpatient clinics. Ideal for high-calibre candidates with orthogeriatric expertise, the position includes collaboration with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Anaesthetic Consultants, and the Care of the Elderly team. Engage in shared learning with combined Risk and Governance structures, amidst a position that arises from maternity cover. Notably, there are no on-call commitments, and part-time applicants are welcome.
