Job description
Reliable Monday–Friday day shifts — great for carers and family routines
Permanent Band 2 role at £24,465 a year — stable NHS employment
Local bases across Cheshire & Merseyside reduce commute and fit local lives
Hands‑on role supporting frontline crews — make a visible difference daily
Applicant support sessions and on‑the‑job systems training — good for returners
Drive ambulances and rapid response vehicles (including electric types) — varied duties; C1 licence required
Keep ambulance crews ready across Cheshire & Merseyside by ensuring vehicles, equipment and consumables are available, clean and roadworthy. Based at Chester, Macclesfield, Northwich, Wallasey and Warrington, you’ll carry out vehicle checks, fuel and deep-clean when needed, restock consumables, manage inventory and support servicing and repairs — including driving both traditional and electric ambulances. The job is hands-on and practical, involves basic digital tasks (data entry and stock systems), coordination with fleet, clinical and operational teams, and demands attention to detail, flexibility and safe working (manual handling, COSHH, PPE). This permanent, full-time Band 2 post (£24,465 pa) predominantly operates Monday–Friday day shifts; a full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement and a Disclosure and Barring Service check are required.
This position suits organised, caring people who enjoy practical, team-based work that directly supports frontline staff — particularly women and carers seeking steady, meaningful hours and a supportive environment. Previous logistics, warehouse or fleet experience, good communication and time-management skills are valued, and the Trust runs support sessions to help you understand the role and application process.
