As a Maintenance Operative (Bank) at Avery Healthcare Group’s Aldridge care home (WS9), you’ll keep the building and grounds safe, comfortable and welcoming for residents. This flexible bank role pays £12.40 an hour, is predominantly days with on‑call duties for out‑of‑hours emergencies, and centres on routine maintenance and basic repairs across electrical, plumbing, joinery and general building works. You’ll also support new residents to settle into their rooms, carry out routine re‑decoration, manage supplies and order replacements — practical tasks that directly improve residents’ day‑to‑day comfort within a respectful, supportive environment.

The role is suited to someone with at least one year’s experience in general maintenance or a trade qualification, a full driving licence and sound knowledge of Health & Safety (moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH). You’ll be adaptable, able to cover varied tasks at short notice, and prepared to participate in the on‑call rota. A DBS check (cost covered by Avery) and proof of eligibility to work in the UK are required.
