Job summary
The post holder will be required to provide high quality clerical and administrative support as a member of the Maternity department. You will act as first point of contact for all patients, in the Antenatal clinic putting patients at the heart of everything we do.Reception duties include: meeting and greeting patients on arrival to the hospital, checking patients into the appropriate clinics using the Trust patient administration system, booking clinic appointments, and accurate recording of patient data.Additional administrative duties include: ensuring clinics are booked to profile, answering queries (by telephone and in person), and supporting the Assistant Service Manager and Service Manager with clinic cancellations and other administrative duties.The post holder will be required to have good interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, polite and courteous manner along with a professional attitude.
Main duties of the job
Clinic management:o To provide a high standard reception service and general administrative support to designated outpatient clinics, being a first point of contact to patients.o To manage designated clinics in line with agreed clinic profiles, reducing over-booking and ensuring that patient numbers are adjusted to clinician availability.o Ensure follow up appointments are booked according to agreed Key Performance Indicators and in line with treatment protocols.o Accurately record the patient's attendance in clinic, cashing up all clinics within a timely manner.o To assist patients with using the electronic self-check-in kiosks where required.
