Work as a Maternity Support Worker in Warwick, supporting women through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood across theatre, inpatient and community settings. This full‑time, permanent role with South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (advertised by NHS Jobs) pays between £24,937 and £26,598 per year and closes on 20 November 2025. You will assist and work alongside midwives and the wider multi‑disciplinary team to deliver woman‑centred care, preparing for and supporting births (including homebirths), helping with immediate maternal and neonatal care, and contributing to clinics such as booking, newborn screening and feeding support. The post is rotational and training will be provided for the clinical areas you work in, so it suits compassionate women and experienced carers who want a hands‑on, purposeful role that balances clinical practice with emotional support.

Day‑to‑day duties include clinical tasks carried out under the direction of registered staff and, once competent, some independently: venepuncture, newborn blood samples, bilirubin and glucose testing, weighing and calculating neonatal weight change, tube feeding, and supporting infant feeding in line with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative. You will recognise and escalate deviations in maternal or neonatal health, support during emergencies, manage documentation and IT systems, take part in health promotion and lone working in the community, and uphold professional standards and safeguarding. Mandatory training, the Care Certificate within 12 weeks and a Trust or external MSW programme within six months are required and supported, with ongoing development and appraisal.
