Bring your calm, organisation and warm welcome to Maternity Ward 2 at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, based in Stockport (SK2). This part-time, permanent Band 2 role supports a busy mixed antenatal and postnatal ward, acting as the first point of contact for women, partners and families. You will carry out reception and clerical duties including collecting and filing notes, answering calls to Trust standards, inputting data, ordering and stocking patient information, issuing car park permits and supporting midwives and doctors with results and paperwork. The role involves long day shifts (07:30–20:30) covering weekdays, weekends and some bank holidays so flexibility is important; occasional short shifts may be agreed with your manager. The post is offered on a job-share/flexible basis, pays circa £24,465 pro rata (Band 2) and includes NHS benefits such as 27–33 days annual leave pro rata, pension membership and staff discounts.

This position will suit people with strong IT and communication skills, excellent organisation and a calm, professional presence — ideal for experienced receptionists, returning parents, or carers who want meaningful, patient-facing work. You’ll need to maintain confidentiality, be computer literate (Microsoft Office) and be able to prioritise under pressure; an enhanced DBS check is required. Stockport NHS Foundation Trust values diversity and flexible working, and offers support to help your application and balance home responsibilities.
