Work at Royal Brompton Hospital in SW3 as a Medical Laboratory Assistant with Synnovis Analytics, supporting diagnostics at one of the UK’s leading heart and lung centres. This hands‑on role focuses on specimen reception and laboratory support across blood sciences, transfusion and biochemistry. You will receive, log and process samples using laboratory information systems (EPIC Beaker and other LIMS), operate and support routine analysers, manage consumables and carry out environmental and safety checks in line with SOPs. The post sits within a close‑knit team of MLAs and Biomedical Scientists, delivering vital results that directly affect patient care — an ideal fit for practical, organised people and those with caring responsibilities who want meaningful, stable work in a trusted NHS‑partnered setting.

Day‑to‑day duties include specimen handling and preparation, data entry with strict information governance, basic instrument maintenance and waste management, plus administrative and stock‑management tasks. Training and development are actively supported via the Synnovis Way programme, Synnovis Academy and funding opportunities for scientific development, so the role suits candidates looking to build a laboratory career; essential qualifications include GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths and an ability to work accurately under pressure.
