Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Assistant towork in our fast-paced medical laboratories in South Essex. Pathology First isa partnership between SYNLAB and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust,supporting Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals, Southend Hospital and more than 200GP practices. It provides services to a population of 750,000 in the East ofEngland and performs around 56,000 tests every day.We operate in state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment and fullyintegrated IT systems. We have optimised laboratory layouts and improved processesso they are more efficient, enabling us to make the best use of people, timeand resources. This role will be based between three sites of which two are inBasildon and one in Southend. This role will be a full shift rotation includingnights.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for candidates who have passion for patient care, ideallywith a background in healthcare setting who is able to work in a fast paceenvironment, has manual dexterity and is able to accurately enter patient information into LaboratoryInformation System. The successfulcandidate will work in a team as well as being required to work independentlyat times.The candidate will be participating in a variety of shifts such as early and later shifts (currently, 1000-1800, 1100 1900 and 1200-2000) each week including some weekends.At SYNLAB, we believe in nurturing a culture ofwell-being and ensuring our employees are supported both professionally andpersonally.
