You will deliver high-quality reception and administrative support: managing appointments, handling patient enquiries, processing correspondence and using EMIS Web in a paper-light practice. The post requires someone confident, organised, computer literate and calm under pressure, with experience in a busy public reception environment. This permanent role is for 30 hours a week, split between mornings and afternoons Monday–Friday (start as early as 07:45; finish up to 18:30, or 20:00 on Wednesdays), with flexibility to cover leave; a DBS check is required and the hourly pay is £12.28.

This vacancy is especially well suited to carers and women juggling family responsibilities who want reliable hours, local work and a supportive, community-focused practice with an outstanding CQC rating. Sett Valley is semi-rural on the edge of the Peak District yet has excellent road and rail links to Manchester, offering the best of a friendly local environment and easy commuting. The surgery values professional development, works paper-light and has an active patient participation group, so you’ll find meaningful day-to-day work and on-the-job learning.
