An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Medical Secretary supporting General Surgery & Urology at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust in Torquay (TQ2 7AA). This is a full‑time, fixed‑term role for six months working 37.5 hours a week (9am–5pm) with a salary of £24,937–£26,598 (Agenda for Change). You will provide high‑quality secretarial and administrative support to consultants, nurses and multidisciplinary teams across a busy surgical department covering lower and upper GI, vascular and urology specialties, handling clinical correspondence, diary management and patient-facing enquiries. You will be responsible for audio and copy typing (Infoflex), tracking investigation results, arranging appointments, maintaining clinic outcomes and SOPs, transcribing minutes and supporting less experienced staff. The role suits organised, empathetic candidates with GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), typing at around 40wpm, confident use of Excel and Office, and proven administrative experience; AMSPAR or NHS experience is desirable.
