Job Summary
To provide a full and comprehensive PA role for multiple consultants and medical staff within the Salford Directorate.
You will be a well organised and experienced secretary with knowledge of medical terminology. You will ensure all consultants and clinicians within your role are organised and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. Appropriate electronic and paper filing systems will be maintained, along with coordinating their clinical activities.
Main duties of the job
Undertake audio/shorthand/clerical duties for yourconsultants, including minute taking as required, clinicalletters, reports, discharge correspondence and clinical activitydata inputting. This may include administrative supportrelating to consultant tutorial work.

- Provide first point of contact for written and telephoneenquiries on behalf of your consultants, using judgement toestablish validity and priority of the contact.o Deal with any admission enquiries using judgement andobserving patient confidentiality at all times.o Liaise with General Practitioner's regarding clinic anddomiciliary visits. Liaise with outside agencies, includingSocial Services, Coroner's Office, other hospitals, general andgeriatric, medical services, clients and their relatives usingtheir knowledge and judgement of any given situation.o Liaise on behalf of your consultants with multi-disciplinaryteam members with regard to requirements for jointoutpatients work/care programming activity.o As directed by your consultants, record activity ontoappropriate medium meeting all required deadlines.o Track all service users from referral to discharge ensuring allappointment and correspondence are within local and nationaltargets.o Ensure all discharge notification and summaries aregenerated and sent to General Practitioner within agree timescale.
