Response Organisation rdTQuLJ3c
Job description
Make a real difference supporting older adults at Iris Hayter House, a CQC‑registered care home in Littlemore, Oxford. Response Organisation is recruiting a part‑time Mental Health Support Worker (34 hours per week, shifts across mornings, evenings and weekends including bank holidays) with a salary of £23,271–£25,158 depending on experience. You will deliver person‑centred, 24/7 personal care and emotional support to people with enduring and serious mental illness — often alongside physical health needs, neurodiversity, substance use or cognitive impairment — by assisting with medication, daily living and life skills (shopping, budgeting, cooking, using public transport), supporting community access and appointments, key‑working, accurate record keeping and working within a trauma‑informed approach that promotes safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment and cultural consideration. Family and carer engagement is part of the role, as is helping residents access primary and specialist health services.
This role will suit compassionate, reliable people — particularly women carers juggling work with family or other caring responsibilities — who have GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), are IT literate and committed to ongoing development including the Care Certificate. Response lives its values (Caring, Safe, Creative, Aspirational) and offers competitive benefits including 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), enhanced family‑friendly leave, professional qualification sponsorship and study leave, an Employee Assistance Plan with counselling, NHS‑approved wellbeing support, free flu jabs, a Cycle to Work scheme, a £500 refer‑a‑friend bonus and training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing and strength‑based trauma‑informed care. An enhanced DBS, two references and the right to work in the UK are required; the vacancy may close early, so please click the Apply Now button to apply.
