Nursing Assistant AMU at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (Wythenshawe Hospital, M23) is a hands-on role for compassionate carers who take pride in supporting patients through their hospital journey. Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses you will deliver personal care—mobilising, toileting, washing, dressing, feeding—and help with recording observations and reporting changes in condition after on-the-job training. The role involves sensitive communication with patients, relatives and the multi‑disciplinary team and requires flexibility to work day and night shifts across seven days. This permanent, full‑time Band 2 post is well suited to caring people—especially women looking for meaningful work that combines practical care with emotional support.

Why apply: MFT offers structured learning and clear progression through the Support Worker Development Programme and completion of the Care Certificate, with a defined route to a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role. You’ll join one of England’s largest NHS trusts, benefiting from digital systems like Hive, strong research and education links, and an inclusive workplace that supports career development, wellbeing and sustainability. Essential requirements include willingness to complete the National Care Certificate (if not already held), Functional Skills Level 1 (or equivalent), prior people‑facing experience, good communication and the ability to work as part of a team; the role is subject to a DBS check. Salary is £24,465 to £26,598 per year (pro rata) on Agenda for Change Band 2. To apply, please click the 'Apply Now' button alongside this advert — you can also find the vacancy at jobsincare.com.
