Job description
Be part of the Surgery Centre at East Surrey Hospital (Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust) in Redhill, working as a Nursing Assistant in a 12‑bedded Day Surgery/Short Stay unit with two procedure rooms for minor urology and pain management cases. You’ll provide hands‑on, patient‑centred care that protects privacy and dignity, take and record clinical observations (temperature, manual blood pressure, pulse, respiration, SpO2 and blood glucose), report changes to the nurse in charge or consultant, assist with specified tests and data entry on the clinic computer, and help maintain safe moving and handling of patients and equipment. The unit’s consistent 100% patient recommendation rate reflects the compassion and teamwork expected of staff — a role well suited to carers who value practical, empathetic work in a close‑knit clinical team.
This permanent, full‑time band 3 post offers a salary of £24,937–£26,598 plus a high cost allowance, access to strong training and development, flexible working options and dedicated wellbeing support within a diverse Trust of around 6,000 staff.
