At Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust in central London (WC1N), this fixed-term Orthodontic Therapist post (12 months, ending January 2027) offers 10 PA—likely split between two post-holders—on a Band 7 salary of £56,276–£63,176 per annum. You will work in the Dental and Maxillofacial Department within the Sight & Sound Division, delivering the full range of orthodontic care for children with rare, complex or difficult-to-treat conditions (including cleft lip and/or palate, craniosynostosis, craniofacial microsomia and Beckwith–Wiedemann). The role includes advanced treatment within the therapist’s scope of practice, clear and compassionate communication with families, record collection for audit and research, intra-oral scanning, participation in operating lists and ad hoc procedures under general anaesthesia, and active involvement in multidisciplinary meetings, audits and quality-assurance programmes.

This opportunity suits GDC-registered Orthodontic Therapists with a Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy and a dental nursing qualification, experienced in working with children who have complex clinical needs, learning difficulties or challenging behaviour. The trust values inclusion and supports staff networks (REACH, ENABLED, PRIDE and Women’s network), offers flexible patterns including full-time, part-time and job-share, and supports professional development through clinical governance and evidence-based practice. The post requires a DBS check and current UK registration; skilled-worker sponsorship applications will be considered.
