Based at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill (SE5), the Outpatient Appointment Coordinator will sit within the outpatient booking team, managing appointment operations across specialities and liaising directly with patients, referral centres, GPs and multidisciplinary teams. You will make, amend and cancel new and follow-up bookings using Epic and the NHS National Booking System (ERS), working to the 18‑week Referral to Treatment pathway and the Two Week Rule for cancer referrals. The role combines telephony and administrative duties, monitoring waiting lists and clinic capacity, flagging potential breaches to performance targets, maintaining accurate patient records, arranging diagnostic tests and interpreters when needed, and working to strict confidentiality, safeguarding and infection‑control standards. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term (12 months) Band 3 post, salary £30,546–£32,207 per annum (incl. HCA).

This role will suit organised, compassionate people with excellent telephone manner, strong IT skills and NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) — experience with Epic or similar systems and customer‑facing work is desirable. You’ll be part of a supportive, respectful team that values clear communication and ongoing development; the varied rota (telephony and admin) can be particularly attractive to women and carers seeking a people‑centred role with structure and training opportunities. A DBS check is required and skilled worker sponsorship may be considered.
