Based in Brighton and covering East and West Sussex (BN1), this Liaison & Diversion Outreach Support, Time and Recovery Worker role with Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers a permanent, full-time Band 3 position (£24,937–£26,598). Working within the Liaison & Diversion team you will identify and support people — from age 10 upwards — who come into contact with the criminal justice system and who have vulnerabilities such as mental health needs, substance misuse, learning disabilities or social disadvantage. The role is practical and community-focused: you will provide brief psychosocial interventions, help service users and their carers to attend appointments, signpost and refer to appropriate services, support access to online therapeutic tools, complete risk assessments and contribute to care and diversion plans. Regular travel across the MPFT footprint is required, so a full driving licence and access to a car with business insurance are essential; the post is subject to a DBS check.

This position will suit compassionate, resilient carers and women seeking purposeful, hands-on work that combines practical support with opportunities for development. The Trust emphasises inclusive working and ongoing training, with support for career progression and involvement in improving local services. If you have experience working with vulnerable people, strong communication skills and a commitment to promoting independence and choice, this role offers the chance to use those strengths every day.
