Support people who trigger telecare alarms and respond to non‑injured falls as part of Cambridgeshire County Council’s fast‑paced Enhanced Response Service. You will provide hands‑on, person‑centred care — washing, dressing, toileting, catheter care, feeding, meal preparation, medication support — and offer reassurance while coordinating with ambulance, fire and other local services. The role requires accurate electronic and written record‑keeping and applying safeguarding, mental capacity and diversity learning to recognise and report concerns in line with council policy. The permanent, part‑time posts (14.75 or 18 hours per week) are based at Hereward Hall, March and cover the Cambridgeshire area (Cambridge, P15). Shifts are on a set rota including mornings, evenings and every other weekend; travel across the county is required using council manual pool vehicles, so a full manual driving licence is essential. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required and induction training is provided in the first four weeks.

This vacancy suits experienced carers with an NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent) who are happy to work towards Level 3, have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills and value working in a supportive, inclusive service. The role pays £26,403–£28,142 (pro rata) and comes with a strong wellbeing package, pension, opportunities for development and apprenticeships, paid volunteering hours, peer support and reward schemes. Cambridgeshire County Council is a Disability Confident Leader and offers reasonable adjustments throughout recruitment and employment.
