Job description
Help patients enjoy safe, appetising meals and support ward teams as a Patient Catering Assistant with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath (RH16). This permanent Band 2 role (Agenda for Change) offers full- or part-time hours and pays £24,465 a year pro rata. Day-to-day you will pick, prepare, regenerate and plate up patient meals, assist nursing staff with mealtime service, operate industrial dishwashers and floor-scrubbing equipment, and keep the ward kitchen and catering areas hygienic and compliant. The job includes working with chilled and frozen food, meeting special dietary needs, using the Saffron system for menu input and pick-pack operations, receiving and checking deliveries, maintaining stock records and rotation, reporting variances, and occasional porter or event duties. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
