Support patients to get the medicines they need at home by coordinating prescriptions, deliveries and records across pharmacy and homecare teams. As a Pharmacy Homecare Support Worker with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) based in Wothing or Brighton, BN11, you’ll process prescriptions through the pharmacy computer system (CMM/JAC), check and reconcile invoices, register patients onto homecare schemes, answer and resolve patient queries, and keep electronic records accurate and up to date. The role is a mix of patient-facing communication and detailed administration: you will be the first point of contact for home delivery issues, liaise with suppliers and clinical staff, maintain confidentiality, support audits and service improvements, and contribute to training and team rotas. You’ll need good IT skills, attention to detail, GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team; the position is subject to a DBS check.
This fixed-term Band 3 post (6 months) offers flexible working patterns including full‑time, part‑time and rota‑based shifts, with pay at £24,937–£26,598 pa (pro rata). It’s ideal for caring-minded people—especially women balancing family or caring responsibilities—who want meaningful, local NHS work that combines patient contact with admin skills and real development opportunities. UHSussex supports staff with a strong wellbeing programme, learning and training, staff networks and Disability Confident status, so you’ll have practical help to settle in and grow.
