It is a requirement of the role to complete a 15-month training program undertaking a GPhC accredited level 2 qualification.
Training will be provided and study time will be allocated to complete the qualification. This is initially a 15-month fixed term contract and will be made permanent on completion of the qualification, training and if all other requirements are met.
Applicants must be able to meet the requirement for basic skills Maths and English Level 1 or equivalent.

Main duties of the job
You will be working across site, at each of our Aseptic Units (LGI and SJUH).
You will be working with several different professions, performing a variety of different tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines.
Overview Of The Role:
Distribution of Pharmaceuticals to wards and departments
Receipt of Pharmaceuticals from external wholesalers and manufactures
Sanitisation and preparation of the aseptic unit
Assembly of products within the aseptic unit
Stock Control
Obtaining signatures and maintaining accurate documentation for receipt of aseptic products.

Job responsibilities
Train to be a Pharmacy Services Assistant over a 12-15 month period. undertaking a GPhC accredited Level 2 qualification.
There are no line management responsibilities. All duties are performed working to procedures, mostly under direct supervision. The jobholder will work as a member of a team of Support Workers. Although duties are generally rostered across the team, there may be changes in response to urgent demand, service cover etc.
The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis.

The jobholder must comply at all times with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Infection Control policies, in particular by practising Universal Infection Control Precautions. Hand hygiene must be performed before and after contact with patients and their environment.
