Play a crucial part in keeping patient care running smoothly as a Pharmacy Stores Assistant at the Royal Victoria Infirmary with Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This full‑time role (37.5 hours/week, Agenda for Change Band 2, salary £24,465 pa) is based in a busy pharmacy stores environment where you will receive, store and distribute medicines, IV fluids and controlled drugs, assemble ward orders, replenish emergency drug boxes and maintain Omnicell cabinets and robot outputs. The job suits practical, caring people who work accurately under pressure — particularly those with GCSEs in English and Maths and a Level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification (or equivalent) — and involves working with trolleys across wards, liaising with pharmacists and ward staff, and taking part in a rota that includes late duties, weekends and bank holidays. You will be supported with extensive training, a friendly team and opportunities to grow into wider hospital roles, with DBS clearance required and staff benefits available through the Trust.
This position will appeal to women carers and anyone who values patient-focused work, steady routines and supportive colleagues. The Trust is flexible about working patterns where the service allows, and the role offers hands‑on responsibility, clear progression pathways and the chance to make a real difference every day.
