Job description
As a Phlebotomist with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Amersham Hospital (HP7) and covering High Wycombe, you will work at Band 3 delivering skilled blood‑taking and sample preparation across hospital sites, GP clinics and patients’ homes. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing the testing room, explaining procedures and obtaining lawful consent, taking and labelling samples, preparing glucose solutions and following strict SOPs and infection‑control measures. You will provide calm, compassionate support to distressed or confused patients of all ages, advise clinical staff on collection requirements, and maintain high standards of uniform and hand hygiene. This permanent role (full‑time, part‑time, job‑share and flexible hours available) pays £24,937–£26,598 pro rata, includes weekend duty and travel between sites, and is subject to a DBS check; please note applicants who applied within the past 12 months will not be considered.
