Post 16 Home Manager Job details Posting date: 05 November 2025 Hours: Full time Closing date: 05 December 2025 Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire Remote working: On-site only Company: Sakura Care Ltd Job type: Permanent Job reference: P16HM Apply for this job Summary As a House Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and direction to our homes catering to young individuals aged 16 and above with high support needs. Your strategic thinking, exceptional managerial skills, and commitment to the safety, well-being and development of the residents will ensure the efficient operation of the home and the delivery of quality care and support. Key Responsibilities · Oversee the day-to-day operations of our homes, including staffing, and contribute to managing budgets and finances. · Maintain a strong understanding of Ofsted standards and support senior managers in implementing requirements to ensure compliance. · Conduct SWOT reviews of your respective homes to identify areas for development. · Create and implement development plans to drive improvements. · Work collaboratively with senior management to ensure a skilled workforce, including identifying training needs and implementing appropriate staff development. · Ensure the delivery of support aligns with Sakura’s Statement of Purpose. · Oversee the implementation of person-specific support plans that align with local authority care plans, ensuring these documents remain live and are promoted within the homes by support staff. · Ensure that young people’s outcomes are effectively promoted, measured, and recorded. · Supervise and equip support workers to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care that aligns with best practices and regulatory requirements, providing performance management when necessary. · Lead the promotion of a reflective culture through supervisions, debriefs, risk reduction processes, and reflective practice. · Lead and promote safeguarding within your homes through thorough risk assessment implementation and reviews, personalised safety protocols, and effective crisis intervention plans for managing challenging behaviours or incidents. · Promote a trauma-informed environment that recognises and addresses the impact of trauma on young people, guiding staff in supporting emotional wellbeing, healing, and a sense of safety. · Collaborate with internal and external agencies, local authorities, families, and professionals to develop comprehensive support plans, advocate for young people’s needs, and facilitate smooth transitions into independence. · Ensure that staff maintain accurate and up-to-date records, comply with regulations, and contribute to reports required by relevant authorities and senior management. · Demonstrate strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills, including staff supervision, team building, and conflict resolution. · Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in high-needs support. · Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with young people, staff, and external partners. · Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a commitment to promoting young people’s rights, dignity, and wellbeing. · Handle crises calmly and efficiently, making informed decisions under pressure. · Ensure deadlines are consistently met. · Lead and promote an open, transparent, and reflective culture within the workplace. · Ensure both yourself and your workforce adhere to Sakura policies and procedures. · Complete any other duties or tasks requested by your manager within the allocated timeframe.
