Receptionist / Care Navigator at Oakwood Lane Medical Practice in Leeds (LS8) offers a hands-on front-of-house role where your empathy and communication skills make a real difference. You’ll welcome patients at the desk and over the phone, guide them to the right clinician or community service, process repeat prescriptions, help patients use digital services and support clinicians with administrative tasks and test-result follow-ups. The role also works in the Appointment Hub, triaging demand to ensure patients see the right person at the right time. This permanent role pays £12.21–£13.77 per hour (dependant on experience), is available full- or part-time and is based at a busy practice caring for more than 14,000 patients; familiarity with SystmOne is useful but not essential.

This position suits someone with customer-service experience, good IT literacy, strong organisation and problem-solving skills, and a compassionate approach — GCSEs in English and Maths are essential and a DBS check will be required. There’s a supportive reception team, a dedicated practice management and clinical staff to lean on, and flexibility around working patterns (the practice asks that you can work at least either Monday or Friday as part of your regular week, usual start time 08:00). If you’re a carer or someone who enjoys helping people navigate complex systems, this is a rewarding, team-led role that values your listening skills and practical problem solving.
