Job description
Make a real difference to patient care as a part-time Receptionist / Care Navigator at Mersea Island Medical Practice in West Mersea (CO5). You will be the friendly, organised first point of contact for patients — answering and making calls, booking appointments including Extended Access slots, processing prescription requests and test results as directed, and keeping registrations and clinical records accurate. The role involves close liaison with clinicians, admin colleagues, care homes and agencies, arranging home visits and late calls when needed, and maintaining a calm, tidy reception area. This is a hands-on position within the Colte Partnership that suits someone who enjoys practical, people-centred work and wants to support their community every day.
This permanent, part-time post — advertised by Primary Care Careers — is especially well suited to carers and women seeking family-friendly, flexible hours and a supportive workplace. You’ll need good customer-service experience, strong IT and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise; EMIS experience and primary care background are helpful but full training will be provided. The role requires a DBS check and offers generous annual leave, flexible working and access to staff wellbeing support, including counselling. Salary is dependent on experience.
