Job description
Support people recovering from drug and alcohol problems as a Recovery Worker with We Are With You in Mid Cornwall, based around St Austell with occasional work from the Truro office (TR1). This frontline role involves managing an active caseload, delivering one-to-one interventions and care coordination, and working closely with outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice and residential rehabilitation teams. You’ll help clients identify goals, ambitions and day-to-day plans, offering continuity of care, respect and practical support. The role is full-time and permanent, will involve occasional Saturdays and travel around Cornwall (a driving licence and business-use insurance are required), and asks for either an ONC/NVQ Level 3 or willingness to achieve it within 12 months. Experience in health, social care, criminal justice or substance-misuse work — including voluntary roles — alongside strong communication, IT and organisational skills, resilience and a collaborative approach are essential.
This post offers a starting salary of £25,000 with progression up to £30,000, flexible working options and a generous benefits package designed for carers and parents: 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, an extra day off for your birthday or a special occasion, enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave, two paid volunteer days per year, auto-enrolment into the pension scheme and Blue Light Card discounts. With You promotes an inclusive workplace and offers guaranteed interview schemes for veterans and candidates with disabilities; training, wellbeing support and a refer-a-friend bonus are also available. All applicants must submit a CV and a covering letter explaining why they should be considered; applications without a covering letter will not be accepted and the closing date is 23 November 2025 (the role may close early).
